Slideshow XL by Media KG is an easy-to-use, four-step slideshow creation program that offers fairly high-quality results and some pretty great help/support. But a general lack of features kept this slideshow program from earning any better than our #10 pick.

Ease of Use: Excellent

The Slideshow XL’s simple, four-step process very easy to use. In the first step, you import your photos. You also can edit and add text to photos in this first step, if you wish. In the next step, you add your sound or music for the show. In the third step, you organize your slideshow and in the last step, you export your show in the desired format.
Design Features: Excellent

Slideshow XL offers a few useful features like drag-and-drop picture placement, edit/undo functionality and a large number of slide transitions. However, this product does not offer audio sync, slideshow preview or the ability to add video clips. Also, if you wish to add music to your slideshow, you’ll need to have it in mp3 format, as this program works with a very limited number of music files.

Input/Output: Excellent

Slideshow XL offers very little in the way of importing and publishing options, limiting your output of finished slideshows and turning a relatively simple undertaking like importing into a time consuming task of uploading and reformatting.

Slideshow Quality: Excellent

The quality of Slideshow XL’s results are relatively decent, with clear sound and decent visuals. One negative aspect of this product is that it stretches the pictures across the entire screen, which can cause poorer resolutions if smaller pictures are used.

Help/Support: Excellent

Media KG supports Slideshow XL through an online manual, email support and a technical support line. Although there are no FAQs to speak of, we found this product’s support to be excellent and their operators happy to help.

Slideshow XL by Media KG is a simple program that lets you make good-looking slideshows in four short steps. Unfortunately, without additional features and more limitations, this program will never be able to keep up with the competition.
